Kabir serves as Senior Director of the Walmart Foundation, where he leads the work around the Foundation’s Community Pillar. He oversees strengthening local community through twenty-five initiatives, ranging from supporting Walmart’s 1.2 million US associates through employee assistance, scholarships, giving, volunteering to disaster response and resilience programs and local community giving through grants, cause marketing and a variety of forms at over 4000 facilities around the country.
Kabir relocated with his wife and son from California and joined the Walmart Foundation in 2014.
Prior to Walmart, Kabir worked with the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, where he helped raise over $2.2 billion. He built relationships with high net worth individuals and supported corporate philanthropic services to over 100 corporations. Internationally, he has five years living and working in India and London, where he established nonprofit organizations doing community based and leadership development work. Kabir has worked for several years with an investment house in London, where he invested in US, UK and Indian markets, and helped create and implement the emerging markets investment strategies.
Kabir has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Brandeis University a Master of Arts Degree in Sustainable International Development from The Heller School of Social Policy and Management. He is also a registered member of the UK Society of Investment Professionals and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
