Lori George Billingsley has 25 years of public relations experience in developing and implementing breakthrough programs that meet organizational goals, target audience needs and produce results. Currently, she is the Vice President of Community Relations for Coca-Cola Refreshments. In this role, she oversees community giving and engagement for North America.

Billingsley has been in the Public Affairs and Communications (PAC) department of The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) for the past nine years in a variety of positions, including Director of Community and Multicultural Communications and Executive Assistant to the Senior Vice President of Coca-Cola North America PAC, Director of Regional Communications, Director of Issues Communications and Director of Shareowner Affairs.

Prior to joining TCCC, Billingsley had her own public relations consultancy, LG Communications. The consultancy provided communications solutions for corporations, nonprofit organizations, associations, foundations and public relations firms. She was a vice president at Porter/Novelli, a leading public relations firm, where she managed a number of nationally acclaimed public education campaigns for the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and National Cancer Institute. She co-founded the firms alliance building and multicultural communications practices and serviced clients, including federal agencies, Fortune 500 corporations, associations and nonprofit organizations.

Billingsley joined Porter/Novelli from the District of Columbia Government where she was a senior public affairs specialist. In that capacity, she wrote speeches, promotional materials, coordinated events, publicity and community outreach efforts for the Office of Human Right and Minority Business.

Billingsley was an associate professor of public relations at Ohio Dominican College in Columbus, Ohio, and also taught classes as an instructor and lecturer at World Harvest Bible College in Columbus, Ohio, and Howard University in Washington, D.C.

She is a member of Leadership Atlanta’s Class of 2008. Billingsley is a member of the Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) Georgia Chapter and has served on the Executive Committee for PRSA’s Multicultural Communications Section. She also serves on the Advisory Board of Hosea Feed The Hungry & Homeless in Atlanta, Georgia.

Billingsley was a founding member of the Washington, D.C. Chapter of the Black Public Relations Society. She has also served on several national and local boards and committees; judged national communications campaign competitions; received numerous awards for her work; authored papers, publications and reports; and has conducted workshops and presentations on a variety of issues.

She received her Bachelor of Arts in public relations at Howard University and her Master of Arts in public communications at American University, both in Washington, D.C. Billingsley is an ordained minister and published writer.
