Lauren Miura, Senior Strategist and Writer, is a communications and marketing professional specializing in the development of cause marketing campaigns and fundraising tools to secure corporate partnerships and major gifts. She works closely with clients to articulate their unique value propositions and share their stories of impact. Additionally, she supports clients by developing sales and fundraising materials such as pitch decks, concept papers, proposals and other collateral.
Before coming to Social Capital, Miura was associate director of marketing for The Nature Conservancy in New York. There, she helped measurably grew the Conservancy's visibility and membership in New York City and developed cause marketing partnerships with brands such as Uber, Etsy, Whole Foods, REI and Zipcar. Prior to the Conservancy, Miura led communications for Seedco, an NYC-based workforce and economic development nonprofit. She started her career as a reporter on Capitol Hill covering energy and environmental policy for Greenwire and E&E Daily.
She earned a B.A. in journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.A. in public affairs with a nonprofit administration specialization at the City University of New York-Baruch College. She is based in New York City.
