Maddie Tolmie is a strategist for Social Capital, working with top national and global causes and foundations.
Prior to Social Capital, Tolmie was a Teach for America corps member, teaching 6th grade Special Education in a Title I school in Metro Atlanta. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she was Chair of the Exceptional Education Department. Prior to Teach for America, Tolmie worked in research, fundraising and marketing for several Chicago nonprofit and for-profit organizations including Opportunity International, Jane Adams Hull House, and Ocean Tomo’s Global Innovation Summit. She received a Jefferson Public Citizens Grant for a community engagement project in South Africa. She has travelled extensively within Africa and India.
Tolmie received her B.A. with Honors in Global Development Studies from the University of Virginia. She is based in Chicago, Illinois.
