Erin Williams is a writer, editor, communications strategist and book author. She is a frequent contributor to outlets such as The Washington Post. She brings nearly 30 years of nonprofit leadership, communications and advocacy experience to her work. Since joining Social Capital, she has served as senior writer for organizations such as
AARP Foundation, American Red Cross, Aspen Institute, Best Friends Animal Society, Girl Scouts of the USA, Global Foodbanking Network, Feeding America, FoodCorps, Hayward Institute, Partners in Health, Points of Light, New York Cares, Truth Initiative, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee and United Way Worldwide.
Williams previously worked in senior roles at some of the United States’ largest nonprofits including The Pew Charitable Trusts and the Humane Society of the United States. She led communications, strategy and field operations for successful campaigns that moved the needle for a variety of causes, such as clean energy, public lands, ocean conservation, animal protection, public health and social justice.
Williams earned a master’s degree in writing from Johns Hopkins University, a master’s degree in nonprofit administration from the University of San Francisco and a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, policy and management from University of California, Berkeley.
