SENIOR STRATEGIST
Passionate appreciator of arts and culture, world traveler, forever student and keeper of restaurant lists
A dynamic, results-driven development executive, Lauren Gray brings over 22 years of experience in strategic planning, fundraising and organizational leadership. Since joining Social Capital, Gray serves as a senior strategist across Social Capital’s top global and national causes and their partners, including Habitat for Humanity International and American Red Cross.
Prior to joining Social Capital, Gray has served as a trusted partner to both established and emerging nonprofits organizations that are seeking to scale their mission-driven impact. She played a pivotal role in scaling fundraising and partnerships with foundations and corporations at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and led comprehensive development efforts as Chief Development Officer at Welcome.US. Gray is known for her ability to build high-performing teams with multimillion-dollar portfolios and design innovative donor engagement strategies, as well as develop collaborative and effective internal systems to ensure success.
As the inaugural Chief Development Officer at Welcome.US, she built the organization’s fundraising infrastructure from the ground up, creating and streamlining internal systems and crafting new corporate engagement models; in addition, she hired and grew the team to 10 people. During her 14-year tenure at the IRC, she led both the Global Corporate Partnerships team and the Foundations team, helping guide the organization through periods of rapid growth and increased global visibility. Before joining the IRC, Gray spent multiple years working with arts organizations, including WNET Thirteen (local NYC PBS station) and the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum.
Gray earned a Master of Arts from the Wisconsin School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts from Washington University in St. Louis.
