General Manager, Social Innovation, Toyota Motor North America and President
Toyota USA Foundation

Mike Goss is a leader of a team of Toyota professionals who create positive social change and business opportunities by coalescing people, ideas and resources to address societal problems.

Social Innovation applies various Toyota assets and resources – including its team members’ know-how and expertise – and convenes like-minded partners such as businesses, governments, NGOs, educational institutions and non-profits – to provide mobility solutions for the under-served, including the elderly, disabled, and economically disadvantaged.

Social Innovation also shares Toyota resources with national programs in the areas of safety, education and disaster resilience, response and recovery, and supports local community engagement at the company’s North American headquarters in Texas and its U.S. manufacturing and R&D operations.

Goss also serves as the president of the Toyota USA Foundation, which supports STEM education.

Previously for Toyota, Goss led communications, community engagement and local government affairs for the company’s North American manufacturing operations. Prior to Toyota, he was an executive at two leading public relations firms in Louisville, Ky. and managing editor of a Kentucky daily newspaper.

Goss is a member of the boards of directors of the Texas Rangers Foundation and the St. Bernard Project (SBP), a disaster resilience and recovery non-profit. He also represents Toyota on the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society Leaders Forum and The Conference Board’s Corporate Social Responsibility Council.

Goss is a native of Louisville and a 1980 graduate of Union College in Kentucky, where he earned degrees in Journalism and English.
