Sarah Glass

Senior Director for Private Sector Engagement
World Wildlife Fund

Sarah joined World Wildlife Fund’s (WWF) Private Sector Engagement (PSE) Team in July 2019, where she serves as local leadership for the PSE Team based out of WWF’s U.S. Washington, D.C. headquarters.  WWF’s PSE team works with the business community to harness the power of business as a force for conservation, through partnerships with 100+ leading companies in the areas of sustainable commodities, watershed management, ending deforestation and land conversion, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, decreasing the impact of packaging and single-use plastics, and more.

Previously, Sarah served as the lead for Private Sector Engagement (PSE) and Acting Director of the Center for Transformational Partnerships at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).  USAID is the United States of America’s lead government agency for delivering foreign assistance on behalf of the American people, operating in more than 80 countries around the world.  The Agency has over 400 active private sector partnerships that bring the unique expertise of the private sector and mobilize billions of dollars in long-term market investments to advance development results.  Sarah and her team focused on supporting the full Agency to mobilize private investment and build shared value partnerships which advance social and environmental impact, as well as business interests.  During her time at USAID, Sarah held several roles, including serving on the Global Development Lab's senior leadership team advising the Agency’s “innovation hub” on programmatic and operational strategy relating to science, technology, innovation and partnerships, as well as leading a special projects team focused on employing the use of digital technologies, open innovation approaches and partnerships with the private sector in the 2014-2016 Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

Prior to joining USAID, Sarah was a Senior Manager with Accenture Strategy Consulting where she worked with corporations and governments on international market expansion, product innovation, strategic planning, and organizational restructuring.  Early in her career, Sarah also spent five years in the non-profit sector with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), a home-away-from-home for families who have seriously ill children being treated at area hospitals.

Sarah lives in Washington, D.C., and she has spent time living in Haiti, Mozambique and India.  She serves as a non-resident Senior Associate with the Center for Strategic International Studies (CSIS), and she holds a BA from the College of William & Mary and an MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
