Sheila Haennicke is a skilled communications leader and social justice advocate with a background in social work. Over nearly four decades, Sheila has served in a wide array of human service settings in Chicago, from grassroot nonprofits to national organizations.
As a senior writer for Social Capital, Haennicke supports clients including American Red Cross and Food Corps. A clear and compelling storyteller, she has deep experience in bringing an organization’s mission to life and inspiring action to achieve its objectives.
Throughout her career, Haennicke has written articles, speeches, and reports, edited publications, conducted training and facilitated work groups toward strategic outcomes. Issues she has championed include: strengthening the early childhood workforce, promoting private and public social services, raising awareness of Alzheimer's disease, advancing anti-poverty policies and combatting opioid overdoses. Sheila believes that everyone can have a role in making communities safer through compassionate action.
Haennicke earned both a bachelor’s degree in sociology and master’s degree in social service administration at the University of Chicago.
