Senior Strategist and Writer
Lauren Miura, senior strategist and writer of Social Capital, is a recognized leader in nonprofit marketing and fundraising. Her experience spans philanthropic communications, campaign and message development, social media, digital marketing, cause partnerships, executive communications and copywriting. Since joining Social Capital, Miura has served as senior strategist and writer for leading nonprofits including American Cancer Society, Best Friends Animal Society, Chicago Architecture Foundation, National Trust for Historic Preservation and UNICEF USA.
Before coming to Social Capital, Miura was associate director of marketing for The Nature Conservancy in New York. There, she helped measurably grow the Conservancy's visibility and membership in New York City and developed cause marketing partnerships with brands such as Uber, Etsy, Whole Foods, Recyclebank, REI and Zipcar. Prior to the Conservancy, Miura led communications for Seedco, an New York City-based workforce and economic development nonprofit. She started her career as a reporter on Capitol Hill, covering energy and environmental policy for Greenwire and E&E Daily.
She earned a BA in journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MPA with a nonprofit administration specialization at the City University of New York-Baruch College. She is based in Los Angeles, California.
