Mary Hutchinson, senior strategist and writer of Social Capital, is a recognized leader in nonprofit fundraising with a track record of managing multi-million-dollar corporate and foundation relationships, grantmaking, and development department leadership. Since joining Social Capital, Hutchinson has served as senior strategist and writer to leading nonprofits including American Cancer Society, Best Friends Animal Society, American Red Cross, Feeding America, Ronald McDonald House Charities, UNICEF USA and World Wildlife Fund.

Prior to joining Social Capital, Hutchinson served as deputy development officer/vice president, philanthropy operations for Feeding America. In this role, she managed multifaceted relationships with the organization’s top corporate and foundation partners. She also led the organization’s multi-million-dollar grant making team, as well as philanthropy operations.

She holds a BA from the University of Notre Dame and an MPA from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University, specializing in nonprofit management. Hutchinson is based in Chicago, Illinois.
